About Me
Ken Clark - CEO of 1-800-Translate and the author of the Translation Guy Blog.
My Experience
Im the CEO of 1-800-Translate, a translation and localization firm offering a full suite of multilingual communications services to leading international businesses, growing our business one client (or more) at a time. Ive been doing this for 14 years. The business of translation has changed a lot since them. Geezers like me will remember the good old days, when the only net was the sneaker net, and Compuserve file transfer was cutting edge, (what happened to my unlats!) and rush translation usually involved bicycle messengers. With all the new translation technologies, things have gotten easier, and more complicated. Im going to use this blog to stay on top of new technology and the interesting and scary ways the business of translation is changing. But as an old newspaperman, Ive always had an eye for city news, the kind of stories that record all the screwed up things people do to each other. So it would be interesting (to me at least) to turn this blog into a kind of police blotter for translation and the translation business. But well see how it goes. It could turn into just a rant, which I suppose might make it even more interesting. Ill do my best to keep it that way, since my ulterior motive with this blog is to use it to build traffic to our website. Id like to link like a bat out of hell to those who share this goal.
