My Experience

Hello world. I am a father, son, husband, friend and all around awesome guy. Did I mention I'm sarcastic? Here is the story of me.I grew up in the Triad of North Carolina. We called it the Piedmont back in the day. My parents, now married over 35 years, still live there as do my sister and brother and other family members. I graduated from North Carolina State University with a Computer Science degree from the CSC Engineering School in the late 90s. I joined the Wolfpack Alumni. Finding myself liking all things red and white, I decided to stick around Raleigh and stay a while... I now live in the Triangle. I am the proud father of two sons in elementary school, providing a fulfilling and action packed life for my lovely wife and I at home in northern Wake county. We are fortunate to live in a fantastic neighborhood with cool people and great friends, where we've planted roots for the last five years. We also have a little dog and hey I'm no dog person but ours is pretty likable.I am into comic books, NC BBQ, travel involving water and sand, sushi, declarative living and moblogging, NC beer, horror movies, science fiction, anime, music of all sorts (even techno & bluegrass!), live concerts, skate boarding, soccer, video gaming, pop culture, internet memes, and other assorted randomness. Yeah, basically I'm a nerd. But I'm the coolest nerd you'll meet. I'm a mac. I am a techno geek. I have an affinity for gadgets and shiny objects. I approach people and ideas like lego blocks, putting them together to form new shapes and paths. I am fascinated by social dynamics of small and large systems - people and structures - communication and organization. Mobs and groups and tribes - oh my.I enjoy meeting people and going to events of all different sorts. I am an active participant in the Triangle technology community and social media marketing 'scene' as the kids call it. I help organize events big and small, and speak about various topics to learn, share and network with what the twitterati call 'tweeps' (their term not mine) and other smart hipsters of various backgrounds. Events I help bring to life include Ignite Raleigh, Triangle Tweetup, Triangle Social Media Club, Social Media Business Forum (Durham) and Raleigh Twestival 2009. I also have been known to play cards from time to time, but that's neither here nor there. I track my local events on SocialCarolina.org and you should too.I work for one of the largest software companies in the world. They also make hardware and provide solutions and services for many of the world's largest businesses. I work as a community ambassador for enterprise software developers. My team drives adoption of key emerging technology in WebSphere Application Infrastructure Software. Connect with us on Facebook. I am a champion of good software, people-centric design and web2.0 culture. The opinions, statements, and information shared on my internet profiles are either my own, where specified, or that of others, where hyper-linked, reblogged, retweeted or annotated, and do not represent my employer, IBM.
