Serving as President of Gold Star Legal Services, Tanya Hutchens primarily focused her legal expertise in two areas: Tenant and Landlord issues and domestic violence matters. Because she knows how these types of cases can impact a persons life, Tanya Hutchens put her best paralegal work into hundreds of court hearings. As a result of Tanyas Hutchens legal preparations, many landlord and tenant clients received what they needed, and several women gained a sense of closure to the chapter of marital abuse in their lives.



Tanya Hutchens took thousands of landlord and tenant trials to Divisional Court and the Court of Appeal. With a large portion of these cases, Tanya Hutchens fought for her clients legal costs with the opposing party and won, sparing them from those expenses. During her professional career, Tanya Hutchens received the distinction of being instrumental to a dozen decisions made in the Ontario Court of Justice. Tanya Hutchens represented a party on a Landlord and Tenant Board matter.



An advocate for womens rights, Tanya Hutchens and her paralegal company fought on behalf of women affected by violence in the home. Bringing those who have hurt women to justice, Tanya Hutchens won restraining orders for her clients. Tanya Hutchens went to battered womens shelters to hear their stories. Moved by their words, Tanya Hutchens reunited children with their mothers through custody cases in court. Tanya Hutchens also prepared dockets on urgent family law matters that were presented before the Ontario Court of Justice. Though a successful Paralegal Litigator, Tanya Hutchens biggest contribution came outside of the court of law. Tanya Hutchens provided these clients with the strength they needed to leave these abusive situations forever and make their lives better as healthy, happy, independent women.
