About Me

Thank you for contacting Stan Ragnes Piano Service for the care of your piano. I am Stan Ragnes, although my clients often call me Stan the Piano Man.

I specialize in providing professional piano tuning, repair and action-rebuilding services for residential and commercial pianos. My largest segment of clients are homeowners that love music and the joy their piano brings to their family. I also service commercial pianos as well and would be happy to discuss a contract for any site with multiple pianos that will require a regular schedule.

My passion is to make each of my clients pianos sound and perform as good as they possibly can. There are great differences in brands of pianos. Each has a unique sound or property. I have tuned old pianos and new, Steinways and Bosendorfers and well unknown brands that are uncommon to most folks. I love and care for them all like they were my own.

My Experience

Technician: I have tuned and maintained our grand piano for years and was asked by my neighbors and friends to be their technician. I agreed and started Stan Ragnes Piano Service in 2002.

I joined our local chapter of the Piano Technicians Guild and continue enhancing my skills attending local and national training classes. I am currently a board member of Twin Cities Piano Technicians Guild and serve as secretary and librarian.

Education: I hold a bachelor's degree from Luther College with a major in music performance and music education. During my career I also have earned a master's in social work administration from University of Minnesota, a master's in business administration from the University of
St.Thomas and an additional teaching license in special education from Augsburg College. I love to learn !
