A longtime member of the Southern California Golf Association (SCGA), Santa Barbara resident Ray Navis spends time perfecting his game on courses near his hometown and elsewhere. Since his days on the Stanford University Mens Golf Team, Ray Navis has held a penchant for the sport and plays whenever possible. For years, Ray Navis has participated in numerous golf events across the country, counting over 30 victories in member and invitational competitions to his name. Along with his wife, Cynthia Navis, Ray Navis enters a wide range of couples golf tournaments in the U.S. and abroad. In 1989, Cynthia and Ray Navis tied for first place in the SCGA Couples Classic and later won the International Husband & Wife Golf Championship in Acapulco, Mexico, in 1990. Matching Ray Navis level of competition, Cynthia Navis won the Santa Barbara Womens Open on three occasions and holds the womens course record at La Cumbre Country Club in Santa Barbara. Ray Navis has made his mark at the La Cumbre Country Club as well, where he earned the title of Club Champion in 2004. That same year, Ray Navis also became Club Champion at Hunter Ranch Golf Course in Paso Robles, California. In addition, Glen Annie Golf Club in Santa Barbara and Lomas Santa Fe Country Club in Solana Beach, California, named Ray Navis Club Champion in 1998 and 1994 respectively. Qualifying for numerous golf tournaments throughout the course of his career, Ray Navis made the cut for the SCGA Mid-Amateur (nine times), SCGA Amateur (four times), and the California State Amateur (seven times) championships. On one occasion, Ray Navis qualified for the highly selective United States Golf Associations Mid-Amateur competition. Ray Navis founded the successful womens hat company, Rose Visor, Inc., where he currently serves as President and CEO.
