Budding media professional Rachel Sims Turner has managed to pack a lot of experience into a relatively short period. Throughout her college career and her internships with high-end media companies, Rachel Sims Turner has gained professional skills that put her in an advantageous position in her pursuit of a career in the public relations and media industries. Rachel Sims Turner recently completed an internship with country music powerhouse Country Music Television (CMT), a division of MTV. At CMT, Rachel Sims Turner acted as a Corporate Public Relations Intern at the companys headquarters in Nashville, TN. Rachel Sims Turners position at Country Music Television was a fulltime summer internship she took for course credit. During the two months, Rachel Sims Turner spent at Country Music Television, she crafted press releases and media packets for television program premiers, as well as escorted talent on the red carpet and press line at the CMT Music Awards. Before landing an internship at CMT, Rachel Sims Turner was a Personal Assistant and Executive Assistant at Casablanca Records in New York City. Rachel Sims Turners role at Casablanca Records consisted of being the Executive/Personal Assistant for Tommy Mottola, the Chief Executive Officer of Casablanca Records and former Chairman and CEO of Sony Music Entertainment. Additionally, Rachel Sims Turner helped plan parties and events with more than 100 expected guests, worked closely with the A&R, production, and marketing departments, and managed requests from high-profile individuals for clubs, hotels, and restaurants, among other duties. Rachel Sims Turner put a lot of energy into her education as well. Rachel Sims Turner began her college career by attending Washington and Lee University in Lexington, VA. Rachel Sims Turner studied Journalism and Mass Communications and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in summer 2006, graduating cum laude. Continuing her education, Rachel Sims Turner will earn her Master of Arts in Public Relations from the University of Georgia in 2009. While achieving her masters degree at the University of Georgia, Rachel Sims Turner was selected as one of 30 student judges for the prestigious Peabody Awards, (founded at the University of Georgia) in both 2008 and 2009. In this role, she also attended the Peabody Awards in New York City.
