An accomplished practitioner of the scientific method, Pushpendra Kumar Panchal, PhD is a graduate of the University of Delhis Department of Physics and Astrophysics. Dr. Pushpendra Kumar Panchal is currently engaged in research into the viability of utilizing waste plastics found in municipal waste sources for conversion to alternative fuel, as well as theoretical studies of growth of technologically important single crystals and epitaxial thin-films of superconductor materials. Dr. Pushpendra Panchals doctoral thesis was entitled Study of As-Grown and Annealed Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+ High-Tc Superconducting Single Crystals Grown by Self-Flux Technique. During his doctoral program, he was awarded a fellowship under a research and development program entitled Superconductivity R & D Program funded by University Grants Commission (UGC), India. In 2000, Dr. Pushpendra Kumar Panchal was recognized for excellence in education and research from the Forum of Academics for Social Justice at the University of Delhi. In addition to his university degrees, Dr. Pushpendra Kumar Panchal has published a growing number of scientific papers under the name P. Kumar. Collaborative scientific reports with contributions from Dr. Pushpendra Kumar Panchal include, The X-ray Characterization of Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+ Single Crystals Grown by Different Methods, published in Physica C: Superconductivity in 2003; Surface Morphology and Incommensurate Modulation of Self-Flux Grown Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+ Single Crystals," which appeared in Physica C: Superconductivity in 2004; and Effect of -irradiation on Oxygen Content and Kinetic Parameters of High Tc Y1Ba2Cu3O7- Superconductors, in Materials Chemistry and Physics in 2006. Because of his outstanding scientific contributions in the fields of crystallography and condensed matter physics (superconductivity), as evidenced by his numerous publications in highly prestigious scientific journals of superconductivity, Dr. Pushpendra Kumar Panchal was selected as a referee for an international journal, Materials Chemistry and Physics (Elsevier Science). MCP is an interdisciplinary journal dedicated to advanced materials science. Dr. Pushpendra Panchal and his group were invited to write a chapter in a book, published by Nova Science Publishers, entitled, Superconductivity Research Horizons, in 2007. He was the first author (P. Kumar) in the chapter entitled, Growth and Characterization of Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+ High-Tc Superconducting Single Crystals." Dr. Pushpendra Kumar Panchals excellent research performance has earned him invitations to join several international scientific societies including the American Physical Society; American Chemical Society; International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry, Nuclear Chemistry and Technology; and American Institutes of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
