About Me

Dr. Peter Zahos remains dedicated to advancing surgical treatment for movement disorders. The former Department Chair of Neurosurgery at the Cleveland Clinic Florida, Dr. Zahos currently serves as a neurosurgeon and the director of movement disorder surgery at the Meridian Neuroscience Institute.

Dr. Zahos emphasizes that Deep Brain Stimulation offers movement disorder sufferers improved quality of life, including increased mobility and decreased reliance on medications. Patients interested in frameless DBS treatment are encouraged to contact Peter Zahos office at the Meridian Neuroscience Institute.

After receiving his undergraduate degree at Yale University, Peter Zahos attended George Washington School of Medicine, where he received a W.T. Gill Research Fellowship and earned his medical degree. Peter Zahos advanced his specialty training at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine as a surgical intern and neurosurgery resident and at the University of California, Los Angeles in a fellowship focusing on functional neurosurgery and stereotactic radiosurgery. Alongside his work with frameless DBS, Peter Zahos is interested in stereotactic radiosurgery, neuro-oncology, and therapeutic gene therapy in the central nervous system.
