Patrick Hamm is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in sociology at Harvard University. Patrick Hamms research interests include the comparative political economy of post-communist societies, with a focus on the interplay between structural and political forces in shaping institutional outcomes. The Political Economy Research Institute at the University of Massachusetts (Amherst) and the William Davidson Institute at the University of Michigan have accepted working papers co-authored by Patrick Hamm in collaboration with Lawrence King. In 2009, Patrick Hamm, David Stuckler, and Lawrence King published Rapid Large-Scale Privatization and Death Rates in Ex-communist Countries: An Analysis of Stress-Related and Health System Mechanisms in the International Journal of Health Services. Outside of his research, Patrick Hamm has served as a representative to the Harvard Graduate Student Council, the Student-Faculty Judicial Board, and the Committee on Higher Degrees in the Department of Sociology. Patrick Hamm earned a Bachelor of Arts in Ethics, Politics, and Economics at Yale University in 2004 and completed his Master of Arts in Sociology at Harvard in 2008. Patrick Hamms non-academic work experience includes a position as summer analyst with Oxford Analytica, a political risk consulting firm in the UK.
