About Me

A well-known figure in the advertising industry, Mark Wnek possesses a history of turning around weak or failing ad agencies and creating profitable operations for shareholders. Mr. Wnek accepted a position of Chief Creative Officer (CCO) with Euro RSCG, based out of London, after 12 years of successful creative work at global advertising mainstays Ogilvy & Mather and Lowe + Partners. Before he accepted the position, Euro RSCG received the lowest rank ever given to an ad agency by Campaign magazine during its annual ranking of the industry. For the turnaround efforts, Mark Wnek joined with Brett Gosper, and the agency was renamed Euro RSCG Wnek Gosper. After just 18 months of work, the agency won the New Business League award from Campaign magazine, the same publication that had graded the agency so harshly the prior year. Four years after joining the agency, Wnek added Chairman to his CCO title, and two years after that, the Board of Directors named him Chairman of all the Euro RSCG company holdings in the United Kingdom. As evidence of his successful company rescue, the agency was twice named runner-up Agency of the Year under his managerial oversight. In 2004, Wnek sold his share of Euro RSCG Wnek Gosper, and then temporarily left the advertising industry to spend time with his newborn son.

Mark Wnek returned to the ad world in 2005, lured back by Tony Wright, Chief Executive Officer of Lowe Worldwide, parent company of Lowe + Partners, where Wnek had previously worked. Tasked with reviving the New York branch, Wnek spent over 5 years turning around the agency. Initially given the titles of Chairman and Chief Creative Officer, Mark Wnek ultimately assumed the responsibilities, although not the formal title, of Chief Executive Officer. Mark Wnek rebuilt the agency, which earned praise from the magazine Ad Age, which named it Comeback Agency of the Year in 2009. Deutsch acquired the rejuvenated agency in 2009.

Mark Wnek continues to live in New York City with his wife and three sons.
