My Experience

Seam Drakon serves the Atlanta metropolitan area as a mental and behavioral health counselor, with 12 years of experience. A longtime Georgia resident, Seam Drakon studied at Georgia State University in Atlanta, a university accredited by Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS-COC) and the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP), for a total of eight years. By 2002, Seam Drakon earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Science from Georgia State University and a graduate specialist certification for education. Seam Drakon also obtained a Master of Arts at Arizonas Northcentral University in 2004. After nearly two years of working in the technology sector, Seam Drakon started his counseling career at Inner Harbour Hospital in Douglasville, Georgia, in 1998, where he counseled young patients with mental health issues. Seam Drakon soon expanded his counseling experience to adults, especially those with substance abuse problems. Among the organizations Seam Drakon provided services were Positive Impact, The Hospice Atlanta Center, and The Anxiety & Stress Management Institute. He volunteered at the Clinic for Education, Treatment & Prevention of Addiction and for the Northwest Atlanta Therapists Networking Group, all in the Atlanta area. During this time, Seam Drakon became specialized in all aspects of mental and behavioral health counseling, including disabilities and addictive diseases. Seam Drakon currently provides his counseling experiences to two agencies in the Atlanta area. For insurance company OptumHealth Public Sector, Seam Drakon manages Medicare and Medicaid plans for patients with behavioral, mental health, and addictive diseases as a Care Advocate. With the DeKalb Community Service Board, Seam Drakon oversees the evening operations of a crisis line serving mentally ill patients in DeKalb County, both in English and with proficiency in Spanish. Seam Drakon is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA), and he is a National Certified Counselor and Certified National Pharmaceutical Representative. Seam Drakon is a member of the National Eagle Scout Association.
