About Me

Louis Gregory Rice has worked in the investment banking and asset management industry for over 20 years. Rice began his career at Lazard Frres & Co. (Lazard), where he was hired as an Associate in 1987. During his 18 years at Lazard, he also served as a Vice President, as Senior Vice President and Head of Sales (for the U.S. Equity Sales and Trading group), and as a Managing Director.



After graduating from Shady Side Academy in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Louis Gregory Rice attended Vanderbilt University. Rice graduated from Vanderbilt in 1987 with a degree in Economics and joined Lazard as an Associate in the firms U.S. Equity Sales and Trading department. Rice initially worked as a Junior Analyst in the group, but he later moved to research sales.



During his time at Lazard, Louis Gregory Rice was involved in over 100 transactions with companies in multiple industries, including travel, energy and entertainment. Rice led marketing efforts for equity financings, PIPEs, and Registered Direct Offerings for certain of the firms clients, and he played a central role in expanding Lazards research capabilities to include Life Science, TMT, consumer and special situations.



In 2005, Louis Gregory Rice became Chief Operating Officer and Managing Director of Mezzacappa Management, LLC (Mezzacappa). Rice managed numerous marketing activities at Mezzacappa, and he expanded the firms client coverage to include financial intermediaries, institutional investors and major consultancies.
