About Me

John Langdoc is a lead trial attorney at the law firm of Baron and Budd, P.C.

My Experience

John Langdoc is no stranger to the unique medical and scientific issues involved in the cases he works on. Before becoming an attorney, he was a scientist who studied how the human brain works. At Baylor College of Medicine, Mr. Langdoc researched the brains of people with schizophrenia, depression and autism. Earlier, in graduate school, he helped discover that certain prescription anti-depressants can cause brain defects in newborns.

As a lead trial attorney, Mr. Langdoc has achieved some of the most significant verdicts of their kind across the nation. His recent verdicts include a $9 million verdict against the Dow Chemical Company for a mesothelioma patient who was exposed to harmful carcinogens while working at the company's plant, Dow has announced that it plans to continue fighting the verdict on appeal; a $20 million verdict for a woman who was unknowingly exposed to harmful carcinogens in drywall from helping her husband clean up after certain home remodeling projects, the verdict was later upheld on appeal by a California court; a $12 million verdict for a gentleman who was exposed at a paper mill to harmful carcinogens, the case resulted in a settlement the day after a verdict was reached in Pennsylvania; and an $11 million verdict for a man who was exposed to harmful carcinogens as a painter.

Mr. Langdoc is a frequent lecturer at continuing legal education seminars for lawyers. He has been selected as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers, and was elected as a shareholder and lead trial attorney at Baron and Budd more quickly than any attorney in the firm's history.
