About Me

Herman Frazier joined Temple University as the Associate Director for Sports Administration in August 2008. Within his position, Mr. Frazier is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Temple Universitys athletic teams, which involves organizing team travel arrangements, coordinating team schedules, and participating in the recruiting and hiring process of the coaching staff. Herman Frazier brings over 20 years of athletic administrative experience to his current position and utilizes that knowledge to skillfully manage Temple Universitys athletic program.



Not only does Herman Frazier have extensive experience in athletic administration, but he also has experience as a track and field athlete at the highest levels of athletic competition. He is a former All American collegiate runner, and he also competed in the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games, where he won a Gold Medal in the mens 4x400 meter relay and a Bronze Medal in the mens 400 meters. After graduating from college and retiring from competitive running, Herman Frazier continued to be a member of the U.S. Olympic team in a leadership capacity. He served as an Assistant Chef de Mission for the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, a Vice Presidential Representative of the U.S. Olympic committee in the 2000 games in Sydney, and the Chef de Mission for the 2004 Olympics in Athens.



Herman Fraziers invaluable contributions to the U.S. Olympic Track and Field team over the years have provided athletes with mentorship and support while they represented their country and competed at the highest levels of their sport. While attending Arizona State University, Herman Frazier was both a track star and a dedicated student. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science in 1977. Herman Frazier also served ASU as an athletic administrator for over 20 years after graduation, eventually becoming the Senior Associate Athletic Director.



In 2002 Herman Fraziers friends and colleagues established a political science scholarship in his name, called the Herman R. Frazier Political Science Scholarship. Herman Frazier donates generously to multiple charities, including those that provide sports education and recreation for children, such as United Way and Special Olympics. In his free time, he enjoys running, watching both professional and collegiate sports, and reading mystery novels. Herman Frazier lives and works in his hometown of Philadelphia.
