Glenn Pape leveraged well over 20 years of experience in the business and accounting sectors to become a national leader in financial planning education. Matriculating at the University of Chicago (UChicago) in 1972, Glenn Pape studied classics and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Glenn Pape studied at DePaul University College of Law in Chicago, where he graduated with a Juris Doctor in 1979. Returning to UChicago, Glenn Pape enrolled in the university's Booth School of Business, majoring in finance and statistics. Glenn Pape earned his MBA in 1981. For five years Glenn served on the Board for the Certified Financial Planning Board of Standards, which certifies financial planners, and served as their Chair in 2005 After entering the workforce, Glenn Pape took his diverse educational background and experience to Arthur Andersen LLP, where he served as a Tax Manager from 1984 until 1988. In 1988, Glenn Pape became part of The Ayco Company, L.P. as Vice President at their headquarters in Albany, New York. At Ayco, Glenn Pape joined other talented business professionals who had played key roles in the company's illustrious history. Ayco has long been known as one of the nation's foremost providers of financial guidance and educational services for a wide array of clients such as employees, high-net-worth persons, and corporate executives. Glenn Pape was instrumental in helping Ayco meet and exceed its standards for excellent client service and long-lasting relationships, and participated in communication, retirement and transition programs for employees as well as executive seminar counseling programs. Most importantly, Glenn created the Money in Motion financial education system, which was adopted by over forty Fortune 500 companies, including AT&T, Ford, Chrysler, and many more. After eight years with Ayco, Glenn Pape joined Ernst & Young in 1996, where he remained until 2005. As a Partner at Ernst & Young, Glenn Pape was the national leader for its financial planning education practice. Since its founding, Ernst & Young has worked with companies ranging from startup ventures to major corporations, providing start to finish advice and planning that result in sustainable growth and financial success. Glenns professional accreditations include a CPA (Illinois), now retired (CPA Inactive), and he has been accredited by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants as a Personal Financial Specialist (PFS). He is a CFPTM professional, a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), a Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) and has earned the Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) designation awarded by the National Speakers Association. He was on the Board of Governors for the Certified Financial Planning Standards Board, and served as its Chair in 2005. Over his career, Glenn Pape has been frequently quoted in the financial and benefits press, such as Business Week, The Wall Street Journal, and The New York Times. He was a co-author of Ernst & Youngs Retirement Planning Guide, which continues to be updated and published years after he and his co-authors wrote its original edition. Glenn Pape is now retired and is active in volunteer activities.
