About Me

Franck Raharinosy grew up on a small island in the Indian Ocean, far from the excitement of New York City, where he lives today. Travel and an exploration of new cultures have always played a role in Francks life, from his childhood roots to his documentary filmmaking business. Born in Lyon, France, Franck Raharinosy moved to La Reunion, a small French island off the coast of Madagascar, when he was 14. As an adolescent, Franck spent his days attending school and running and motorcycling around the tropical island. Enrolling in Ecole de Gestion et de Commerce de la Reunion (School of Business and Commerce), Franck studied business and law at the local college, where he first got a taste for working in the restaurant industry. As a student, Franck operated the schools cafeteria and delivered pastries and sandwiches while completing degrees in both law and business. That first restaurant business venture led to a career in the entertainment and hospitality business for Franck, who has supervised bar operations at nightlife venues in Paris and New York City. Franck is also the founder of his own club, SPiN New Yorka ping-pong social club located in New York Citys Flatiron District. After college, Franck Raharinosy moved to Los Angeles, where he interned for the marketing department of French airline AOM France. Moving to New York in 1999, Franck began producing documentary films. Between 2003 and 2006, Franck traveled extensively while making a documentary about fashion designer Sebastian Pons. In 2003, Franck set up Ridiculous LLC, a film production studio through which he has produced a number of films, including the 2009 documentary The Entrepreneur, which was executively produced by filmmaker Morgan Spurlock, the Academy Award winning producer of Super Size Me, and featured at Film Festivals around the World.
