About Me

An experienced veteran of the publishing industry, Mr. Eric Jacobson most recently served as the Senior Vice President of Administration (Shared Services) for Penton Media, Inc. With Penton Media (formerly Intertec and Primedia Business) for over a quarter of a century, Eric Jacobson consistently achieved his goals with enthusiasm and the utmost competence despite numerous organizational and operational changes. Eric Jacobson is a resident of Overland Park, Kansas.

Eric Jacobson's skill set ranges across a wide spectrum of managerial expertise. Throughout the course of his career with Penton Media, Eric Jacobson contributed to initiatives in business development, operations management, project management, strategic planning, marketing and public relations, and mergers and acquisitions. Additionally, as the SVP of Administration, Eric Jacobson led a large and diverse staff that consistently produced tangible growth initiatives and/or cost-savings results.

Prior to beginning his career, Eric Jacobson attended the University of Michigan. While at the Ann Arbor-based University, Eric Jacobson received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism. After completing his undergraduate education, Eric Jacobson attended the University of Illinois for his graduate degree in Journalism. While at the University of Illinois, Eric Jacobson served as a Teaching Assistant in the School of Journalism. In addition to his BA and MA, Eric Jacobson holds an MBA from the Keller Graduate School of Management.

Outside of his professional life, Eric Jacobson enjoys staying fit, traveling, and reading. An active member of the Overland Park community, Eric Jacobson contributes to numerous philanthropic endeavors and regularly participates in charitable walk-a-thons. In addition, Eric Jacobson was a volunteer for Cancer Action in Kansas City (Overland Park, KS branch office) and for a local "Meals On Wheels" program during 2009. Eric Jacobson is a current volunteer at the Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art in Overland Park, KS.
