About Me

Dr. Eileen Consorti began preparing for her career in medicine at San Diego State University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. She subsequently matriculated at California State University to pursue her graduate studies. Distinguished as a Sigma Xi Award winner, Dr. Eileen Consorti earned a Master of Science in Chemistry and headed east to continue her studies at Loyola Universitys Stritch School of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. An outstanding student, she received admittance to the Alpha Sigma Nu Jesuit Honor Society while obtaining her Doctor of Medicine.

Following commencement, Dr. Eileen Consorti came to the University of Minnesota to complete internship and residency training in general surgery. In 1996, Dr. Consorti joined the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, to undergo a research fellowship in oncology thanks to a grant from the National Institute of Health. Following the yearlong program, she stayed in Houston to complete additional residency training in general surgery at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston.

In 2000, Dr. Eileen Consorti accepted her first professional medical position with the Kelsey-Seybold Clinic in Houston. She also volunteered with the Department of Surgery at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. She served the facility for two years before returning to California and accepting a job with Kaiser Permanente in Richmond. After one year, Dr. Consorti joined Dr. Lisa Bailey's practice in Berkeley, California, and began teaching in the Department of Surgery for the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine (UCSF).

Dr. Eileen Consorti founded her own private practice in 2005 and continues to teach at UCSF. In addition, she participates on the staff at Alameda Hospital and the Summit Medical Center, as well as serving as the Chair of Surgery for the Alta Bates Summit Medical Center.

Over the course of her career, Dr. Eileen Consorti has published numerous articles and presented papers at dozens of professional gatherings across the country. She also holds membership with several prominent organizations, including the Association of Women Surgeons, the Society of Surgical Oncology, and the American College of Surgeons.
