About Me
Department of Business and Economic Development (DBED), in an effort to attract and retain businesses, as well as increase the workforce in the State of Maryland, will host a Maryland Pavilion at the BIO International Convention in Atlanta on May 18-21, 2009. The Maryland Pavilion will comprise state and county economic development offices, universities, federal institutions, bioscience companies and other related companies in Maryland.
The scope of work includes two options:
Alternate Solution A. A turn-key service to develop a design for the entire BioMaryland Pavilion and deliver and install all aspects of the design to the show in Atlanta. The State wants to provide a cohesive brand for the bioscience community and build up to the 2011 BIO Convention when the Convention will be hosted in Washington, DC.
Alternate Solution B. Limited service to include a flooring solution for the BioMaryland Pavilion, a double-decker Maryland booth structure and signage.
Alternate Solution A includes equipment purchases and rental, ordering of booth services, graphic design and production, shipping, set-up and dismantling, and catering services. With a priority to present a unified bioscience community, the design must be open and conducive to networking and engage visitors. In addition to providing the major representation of Maryland, the contractor will represent each company exhibiting within the Pavilion with booth structure, signage, graphic production and booth services, all provided by the contractor. Graphic design files for the individual companies exhibiting will be provided to the vendor by DBED upon execution of the contract. Alternate options for Alternate Solution A include: two internet kiosks; interactive map station; audio visual; additional lighting; advertising. Specific details of each requirement of Alternation Solution A may be found in the request for proposal.
Alternate Solution B is a less detailed version of Solution A, with the primary difference being that individual exhibitors will be responsible for design, structure, graphics and services. The contractor is responsible for the major representation of the booth, but will not represent each exhibitor within the booth as a whole. Details of required goods and services are available in the request for proposal.
Submitted proposals must be in two clearly identified volumes marked Technical Proposal and Financial Proposal. Each volume must be sealed individually, but may be submitted simultaneously. Packets shall contain an original with six copies.
