Rheuban Partners Founder Carl Rheuban is responsible for propelling the success of his Los Angeles-based real estate and energy advising firm. Carl Rheuban and his associates are veterans of real estate and energy consulting arenas and combine their years of experience to advise companies on the acquisition, development, and operations of real estate and energy projects. Carl Rheuban recognizes the critical importance of sustainable energy policies and utilizes his expertise to help companies develop sustainable and cost-effective energy policies to realize their potential.

As Chief Operating Officer of KeyFlame Energy Advisers, Carl Rheuban provides green energy consultancy services with a particular focus on torrefaction processing. Torrefaction is the process of roasting wood and other natural materials in a low-oxygen environment to produce energy-dense pellets. A renewable energy source, torrefied wood pellets burn cleaner than traditional wood pellets and can be used at coal-fired power plants without upfront costs. Mr. Rheuban advises a number of torrefaction process plants around the world through the planning, development, fabrication, and installation phases.

Carl Rheuban has held leadership positions in real estate companies for over 40 years. Before founding Rheuban Partners, he was General Partner and Chief Financial Officer of DeAnza Properties, where he assembled the most prestigious and high-end portfolio of manufactured home communities in the United States. Carl Rheuban has subsequently purchased hundreds of millions of dollars of office and commercial real estate properties. Carl Rheuban has also served as the Chairman of the Conventional Mortgage Corporation, the first company in American history to purchase mortgages from banks and pool the mortgages into mortgaged-backed securities. Mr. Rheuban pioneered the innovative concept of mortgaged-backed securities and supervised all aspects of the Conventional Mortgage Corporations establishment and operation of the programs.

Carl Rheuban studied for his Juris Doctor at Southwestern University School of Law and graduated with distinction.

Carl Rheuban loves adventure-seeking activities like off-road motorcycling, paragliding, and jet skiing. He is also a lifelong illusionist, and he performed magic as an amateur and professional from age five until college. Mr. Rheuban is currently a Lifetime Member of the Academy of Magical Arts and Sciences.
