About Me

Founded in 2002 by former Miss Universe Bui Simon, Angels Wings Foundation International, Inc., helps children in need throughout Thailand. A native of the Southeast Asian country, Simon established the privately funded organization to build schools and orphanages, as well as provide children with medical care, food, and other necessities. Last year, she and her husband, Indiana Pacers owner Herbert Simon, donated 100,000 baht to the Siam Minthararat Foundation. The Royal Thai Police also received 10 million baht from the Simons in order to create homes in Amphur Takua Pa.

One of Angels Wings Foundation Internationals most notable accomplishments occurred in 2004. When the devastating tsunami hit Thailand, many lost their homes and families. Concerned with the impact this event had on the region, she spearheaded an initiative that led to the creation of new homes, boats, and schools. Furthermore, Bui Simon helped find foster families for over 40 children whose parents died in the storm.

Believing in the importance of academics, Bui Simon developed a Rural Teaching Scholarship through Angels Wings Foundation International, Inc. This endeavor enables remarkable Thai students, particularly those who want to study education, to volunteer their services in devastated areas such as Phuket. Simon has created other popular scholarships over the past several years. She contributes funds to the Thammasat Alumni Associations program, which allowed American college students with Thai ancestors to study abroad. In 2008, Pepperdine University, Bui Simons alma mater, instituted the Thai Endowed Scholarship Fund so that Thai students could study in the United States.
