About Me
Bev Stayart is an animal rights advocate who supports the Prevention of Equine Cruelty Act. While Congressional action effectively closed the last United States slaughterhouse in 2007, tens of thousands of horses are still exported to Mexico and Canada annually for slaughter and shipment of the meat to lucrative markets in Asia and Europe. Bev Stayart calls for Congress to pass the Prevention of Equine Cruelty Act, which will protect horses from slaughter and ban their export for slaughter in foreign countries.
Bev Stayart adds to her flower garden every spring. Some of her favorite plants include hollyhocks, giant Pacific blue delphiniums, hydrangeas and daylilies. Other favorites are daffodils, tulips, and bluebells. Bev Stayart plans her garden so that flowering plants are in bloom during the spring, summer, and fall.
Bev Stayart believes nothing adds character to a garden like vintage architectural elements, such as benches, birdhouses and birdbaths. Bev Stayart has decorated her garden with several vintage items, including an angel birdbath, old wooden birdhouses, and a variety of benches made of both wood and stone. If an item is too fragile to withstand harsh weather, Bev Stayart brings it inside where it adds charm to the interior of her home. Bev Stayart says the beauty of these objects is that they are one of a kind, which means you will never see them in someone else's home or garden, and that they are especially fun to collect.
