About Me

Why dont a chassis manufacturer and a body manufacturer merge together to streamline the assembling process? That is the question that Andrew Taitz asked when he acquired the oldest body company in the world, Union City Body Company, in 1993. With a recession still looming, Andrew Taitz wanted to join a sector that offered less risk and more security for his investments. When he bought it, it was an inefficient body manufacturer that was losing old clients and not gaining any new ones. Most investors viewed the company as a failure, Andrew Taitz saw opportunity in an underappreciated asset that was poorly managed. After merging the chassis and the body manufacturing processes into one plant, Andrew Taitz began to recuperate business while revolutionizing the industry in one swift move. His success gave him the ability to purchase the P-Chassis division from GM in 1998, renaming it to Workhouse Custom Chassis, becoming the second company under the Grand Vehicle Works Holdings umbrella. The chassis gave them the ability to offer more offerings and increase the pace at which models are manufactured. In 2001 Andrew Taitz acquired Autocar Company, which is a worldwide leader in building trucks for the refuse service industry. To ensure that growth ensues, Andrew Taitz founded Aculocity. The company was created to offer warranty solutions to ensure that claims are dealt with in an efficient manner to ensure great customer service, should a repair arise. Aculocity also provides GVWH with an IT infrastructure, handling everything network related, from applications to software. Aside from analytics, Aculocity also helps companies, including GVWH, implement an infrastructure designed to streamline the business aspect of the business. Andrew Taitz is currently the chairman of Grand Vehicle Works Holdings, which owns Aculocity, Autocar Company. In 2005, Andrew Taitz sold Workhouse Custom Chassis to Navistar International, a manufacture of mid to heavy-duty trucks. GVWH is located in Highland Park, Illinois and focuses on small to midsize businesses that have the ability to scale to reach their full potential.
