In Chicago, Allyson Heumann traded illiquid stock options with Susquehanna Investment Group. Here, Heumann discovered the potential of electronic trading, and approached SIG leaders with an analysis of the firms proprietary and third party software. Heumann steered the development of internal software programs, and established the platform as one of the most successful risk management programs in equity options. Heumann was promoted to trade special situation stock options before forming Bullock Capital. There, Heumann was in charge of investor relations and portfolio management through electronic trading. Accessing the feasibility of joining the options market to work with its existing Eurodollar operations, Allyson Heumann served as Fixed Income Market Maker with one of the largest proprietary future firms in Chicago. Before co-founding and directing Modular Trading Group, Heumann consulted for Merlinone Trading, evaluating macroeconomic variables for innovative individual and institutional fund-targeting investors and creating operational timelines for entry into new markets.

Consulting, fundraising, and guest lecturing on behalf of her own information services company, Heumann developed Allyson Heumann & Associates in 2006. Heumann discusses front end software usability, internalization of order-flow, OTC vs. exchange trading, and the importance of medium and smaller Market Making groups. Consulting on risk management practices and software, Heumann works with several firms on Wall Street and in London. In 2006, Heumann consulted on risk management, specifically, ERM encompassing credit risk into market risk models.

In addition to her own services group, Heumann co-founded and is the Director of Strategic Development for the Modular Trading Group. Envisioning the need for change in the capital markets industry, Heumanns Group aims to address the current financial predicament by integrating useful technologies. Outside of her developmental role with the Modular Trading Group, which is still in its forming stages , Allyson Heumann is the Editor at TheHeumannMarketReview.com.
