Leading the world standard for advanced laser spine surgery, Dr. Alfred Bonati developed multi-patented Bonati Procedures for back and neck pain relief.



Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon Dr. Alfred Bonati founded The Bonati Institute to treat back patients using The Bonati Procedures. A leader in laser technology research and practice, Dr. Alfred Bonati completed his last Orthopaedic Residency with the Bowman Gray School of Medicine at Wake Forest University in 1981. Dr. Alfred Bonati earned his MD at the University of Seville in Spain and took on internships with hospitals in Maryland and Illinois. For more than 20 years, Dr. Bonati has used The Bonati Procedures to cure lumbar issues when open-back surgery has failed. Prior to creating and following the latest laser procedures at The Bonati Institute, Dr. Bonati established Gulf Coast Orthopedic Center- Alfred O. Bonati, M.D., P.A.



Dr. Alfred Bonati earned Board Certifications from the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery; The American Board of Neurological and Orthopaedic Medicine and Surgery; and the American Academy of Neurological and Orthopaedic Surgery, Sports Medicine and Surgery. Completing nearly 20,000 procedures using The Bonati Method, Dr. Alfred Bonati instructs his colleagues on laser and arthroscopic advancements for the spine. Dr. Alfred Bonati was appointed President Elect of the Arthroscopic Board of North America and serves on the Editorial Board for MAPFRE and as Fellow of the International College of Surgeons in Orthopaedic Surgery. In 1989, Dr. Alfred Bonati authored the book No More Back Pain.



The Bonati Method, developed by Dr. Alfred Bonati, has obtained seven patents from the US Patent Office. Dr. Alfred Bonati created this advanced outpatient laser procedure as an alternative to failed open-back surgeries. Using the minimally invasive method, Dr. Alfred Bonati avoids the removal of bone parts and ripping of muscles. Dr. Alfred Bonati helps his patients experience a safe procedure with far less trauma and shorter recovery time. The research team for Dr. Alfred Bonatis method found results that became the basis for the FDAs approval of Holmium YAG laser use. Dr. Alfred Bonati designed specific instruments to correct a number of spinal conditions, including herniated discs, bulging discs, failed open back surgery, facet disease, foraminal narrowing, spinal stenosis, pinched nerves, and whiplash. Dr. Alfred Bonati performs these outpatient procedures in stages to allow the body to adjust to each correction naturally.
