About Me
As a Jordanian educated chemical engineer, Alaa Kababji discovered his place in American academia with ease. Kababjis post-graduate work received funding from the U.S. Department of Energy and NASA: certainly a more than decent way to acclimate into a new country. Alaa Kababjis accomplishments in the academic world are impressive, especially for someone who has crossed such dramatic cultural divides while working towards their Ph.D. Kababji earned his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the Jordan University of Science and Technology in 2001, and his M.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of South Florida in 2004. Another impressive feat is how Alaa Kababji received NASA funding for his dissertation, Cobalt Catalysts for Use in the Fischer-Tropsch Synthesis. Kababji conducted extensive research during his studies at the University of South Florida, including the development of fixed-bed catalytic reactors, GC products and reactants analysis, as well as Thermodynamic, kinetic and mechanism investigation. Throughout his engineering education, Kababji has mastered the use of high-level characterization tools like Fourier transform Infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). Alaa Kababji is currently working towards his Ph.D. at the University of South Florida. While conducting high-level Ph.D. work, Kababji performs duties as a research assistant, helping conduct other studies and important research in his field of expertise. Kababji also manages the Surface Science Laboratory at the University, and serves as a Recipient of South Floridas Research Assistantship.
